Tow Trailer is completely safe, and keeps your entire vehicle off the ground for the entire Trip.
So at this point we are already super happy to be in charge of your Long Distance Move from or to the Charlotte area to/from anywhere in the contiguous United States. So we’re going to add
long distance car towing
if you need it as close to cost as possible to give you a great bundle deal and increase our value to you.
We don’t actually own a car towing trailer, so in order to figure out how much a car towing will add to your long distance move cost, please use our internal formula:
Look up the cost of the one-way rental at U-haul for the tow trailer.
Add $100 for our hook/unhook and equipment retrieval fee. (This is a very reasonable fee for travelling to the U-haul, checking out the equipment, taking it to your location, hooking and unhooking to the truck as needed to load and unload your belongings, load the car onto the trailer securely, unload it on destination, and return the equipment.
Then simply add 20 cents per mile to account for the weight, drag, and impact on fuel costs for the trip. These behemoth moving trucks only get about 8 miles per gallon to begin with, and that drops to 7 or less when towing a car. This offsets the cost difference for the journey.
So:
Rental fee + $100 + $0.20 cents/mile. We’ll be happy to figure it up for you upon request!
*Please note that car towing is not covered under household goods insurance and the only policy likely to apply is your own full-coverage policy. This generally covers you completely, please check with your agent if you are unsure.
